Joe Hardeman

Director

Joe started his work in non-profits with Boys & Girls Clubs in 2000. He continued to work with clubs throughout his college career at both Chico State University and Sonoma State University where he received his Bachelors in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. He has held direct service roles (Computer Clubhouse Coordinator) and management roles as a Program Director, Director or Programs and Education and left his role as Vice President of Program Operations in 2023. At the end of 2024 the FPA Board of Directors voted to merge Fox Home Health Vocational Training with Fox Pacific Academy which brings us to the current model. Joe was elected by the Board to Direct FPA in February of 2025. He is passionate about service to all people (especially those who need the most help). Joe believes that all people should have equitable access to resources, education and careers.

RN BSN DSD PHN
Program Director

My journey in healthcare started as a physical therapist aide at 18 and I knew the healthcare field was for me. I became a personal caregiver and CNA to put myself through college. I graduated from Humboldt State University in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. My experience as a nurse began in the OB department as a labor and delivery nurse but I switched to long term care and rehabilitation. Here is where I developed my supervisory, management and teaching skills. I became Director of Staff Development (DSD), the direct supervisor to the CNAs, infection control nurse, and provided the education to all staff. I obtained my Public Health Nurse (PHN) license and gained experience in home health. American Red Cross hired me to become an instructor and Program Director for their Nurse Assistant Training Program, Home Health Aide Program, Continuing Education program.
I started with Fox Home Health as Program Director and Instructor June 2021 to help start Cheryl’s Dream, educational healthcare programs for the community. As I was working on putting the programs together for state approval, Cheryl asked if I could help at the Covid Vaccination/Testing Clinic. Since I had experience with Covid testing and Bilingual in Spanish. I am thankful that I was part of team to provide this service to the community. I am blessed to be part of Fox Pacific Academy family.

Cheryl Fox
RN
Founder/Board Member

Cheryl Fox, Registered Nurse and founder of Fox Pacific Academy was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California.
Fate brought Cheryl into nursing and it is faith that has kept her working for over 55 years. Cheryl has worked the majority of her nursing career in hospitals where she has been awarded for her service in nursing and patient care. Upon retirement after almost 35 years at the bedside with a dream she could help people stay in their homes safely, she stepped away from the hospital and started her home care business out of her car trunk in 2005 while simultaneously teaching vocational nursing at Santa Rosa Junior College. For Cheryl despite being a great teacher and expert in her craft; education was never a high priority coming from a working-class, single-income family.
Known for her innovative thinking during the pandemic Cheryl had the realization that others may have come from similar types of backgrounds and without opportunities would benefit from completing higher education. The need for healthcare providers could easily be met by those individuals who may not have the ability to pursue traditional education; from this idea, Cheryl developed Fox Pacific Academy
